or more of a psychological challenge than a mental one (anatomy)
I just picked up a couple of comics to redraw latest X-men (Umberto Ramos: one of the best in the super-hero genre at the moment and um... SonicX and uh, not just any issue, the latest one: "Valentine's Fray!" *sigh* I'm embaressed to type it it's put out by Archie comics that's even more embarressing
but its such a simple style, and I'd have none of the anatomy hang-ups with a gig like that I used to love drawing megaman I used to love megamanI can draw that stuff I kinda like it but the story, its soo corndog lame... it could be cool, for what it is... but its not.
hmm... my biggest hurdle might just be my uppity artsy sensibilities
Well, I managed to take it to the counter and purchase it, which was actually pretty painless.
Wow, I've like a ways to go: weak in so many areas
I think the first step is just tightening up my grasp on general structure I have lots of problem areas mostly around joints like arms connecting to torso, thighs to legs, thighs to hips... just on and on
so I guess I'll just pour over my general figure drawing books, meditate on masterful artists, sketch, with pen, and look at anatomy ref photos
I'll do this for about a month (or less if I get to feeling really confident)
